Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have selected Jared Nadel as the NRC Senior Resident Inspector at the Oconee Nuclear Power Station near Seneca, S.C., located approximately 30 miles west of Greenville.

Nadel joins Resident Inspectors Adam Ruh and Jason Parent at the three-unit plant, which is operated by Duke Energy.

Nadel joined the NRC in 2004 as a reactor inspector in the Region IV office in Arlington, Texas. While in Region IV, he worked as an engineering inspector at multiple reactor sites in the western U.S. In 2008, Nadel was assigned as the resident inspector at the Surry Power Station in eastern Virginia. In 2014, he was promoted to a senior resident inspector at the Watts Bar nuclear plant in Tennessee, where he oversaw the startup and transition to the commercial operation of Watts Bar Unit 2, the first new nuclear reactor brought online in the U.S. in the 21st century.
